Bunker Quantity/Quality surveys
Intracon bunker surveyors are qualified, certified bunker surveyors licensed by the Marine Port Authority of Singapore and accredited by the Singapore Accreditation Council of Spring Singapore for bunker survey activities. We are ISO/IEC 17020 certified and comply with the standards set out in the Singapore Standard SS 600 : 2014 – Code of Practice for Bunkering in our bunker survey activities. Our surveyors are called on to act as independent parties to conduct quality inspection by collecting composite sampling or running samples during bunkering or loading/discharging of bunkers in terminal or vessels. We perform quantity surveys and checks onboard vessels and barges to ascertain the correct volume or metric tons delivered or received during bunkering exercise.

Bunker Detective Survey
We have a team of qualified surveyors for bunker recovery survey. Our surveyors are highly trained to look out for special gadgets, false insulation, “magic pipes” etc at the time of On-Hire, Off-Hire, spot checks or 221B survey during such bunker recovery surveys.
Our surveyors have previously recovered 320 metric ton on just one vessel survey. This recovered bunkers was verified by the vessel’s operator on behalf of owner’s interest on the vessel’s immediate arrival at the next port of discharge as reported by our recovery surveyor. Most of the time, the bunkers check or recovery is more than the log book quantity and this benefits our clients.
Quite a number of vessel crew have also been caught with the false installation onboard their vessel, of special gadgets, false insulators or “magic pipes” to show more or less bunkers during On or Off-Hire or during bunkering operations. We are experienced and vigilant in detecting such installations so as to increase the recovery of bunkers despite the actual quantity reflected in the Log book at the time of survey.
As such, the cost of engaging our surveyors to travel to any parts of Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand for such Off-Hire or spot checks for recovery surveys is wholly justifiable when considered against the bunkers recovered during our surveyor’s attendance in the bunker recovery survey.
